De route
Vanuit Vladivostok varen we met de nachtboot over de Japanse zee richting Zuid-Korea. In Seoul ontleden en kisten we de motoren en steken we per vliegtuig de Stille Oceaan over naar Canada, om via Vancouver Noord-Amerika binnen te kunnen rijden. Klaar voor de Transamerican trail: een legendarische offroad rit van 7500 kilometer van west- naar oostkust. Eindbestemming: New York. Of toch Zuid-Korea? Time will tell.

Eerste kennismaking met mijn KTM 790 adventure. Eerste 100 km op de teller op mijn white horse. Hi there, compagnon de route 👐🏍🗺
Intussen hebben we de eerste offroad kilometers met de 790 adventure in de kuiten 🤘😬 Een paar boomstammetjes, netels en slipsporen incluis. Een vijftig kg zwaarder dan mijn standaard trainingsmotoren. Grotere draaicirkel, bredere tank en binnenkort nog twee volgeladen reiskoffers en rollbag erbovenop. Dag moeder 🙃 Motor ‘maar’ twee keer neergelegd. Tong op de grond na 7 km hellingen en modder vreten. Nog 15.000km dirt tracks en veel dubbele boterhammen te gaan! Goestinnnng!

Onderweg ga ik op zoek naar kleine helden en organisaties op die lokaal het verschil willen maken.
